Fire Service Engineer

My Client is looking for a Fire Service Engineer located in Stevenage To service and maintain fire alarm systems and if the occasions arise to install fire alarm systems at our Customers' premises  The types of equipment we expect the Applicant to be experienced or familiar with are the Menvier, C-Tec, Advanced, Kidde, Vesda  Fire Duty Roster: It is recognised in the industry that it is "Custom and Practice" for a Duty Engineers' Roster to be in operation to provide the facility of emergency call outs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Applicant will be expected to be included on the Duty Engineers' Roster for emergency call outs.  Where the Applicant is on call they are not permitted to consume any alcohol or non-prescribed drugs. The Fire Duty Engineer receives £100.00 per week, separate rates apply to bank and public holidays, plus premium rates during the following time bands: Time Bands: Weekdays 06:01 - 08:30 basic rate x 1½  17:00 - 24:00 basic rate x 1½  00:01 - 06:00 basic rate x 2 Weekends Saturday 00:01 - Monday 06:00 basic rate x 2  Bank and Public Holidays basic rate x 2  Fire Engineers are on call one week in twelve Security Screening Our Client carries out security screening under BS: 7858 so go back five years of employment history or back to the age of 12 if that is more recent.  We also request an Enhanced Disclosure from the CRB (Criminal Records Bureau), a Hertfordshire Police Check and a consumer information search with a credit reference agency.  We will need to register our Engineers with the ISA (Independent Safeguarding Authority)  when it is up and running which was going to be apparently in July 2010. Company PPE, Uniform, Equipment, Vehicle They provide obviously PPE, a company uniform, a hands free company mobile phone and if applicable a lap-top.  We try and provide vehicles with air-conditioning but sometimes the delivery period is too long for the vans so we have to accept vans without air-conditioning to meet the needs of the Company
