Information Assurance Security Consultant / Information Assurance Risk Security Consultant. CISSP, CLAS, ISO27001, HMG Information Assurance Policies. Our Client is a successful Consultancy and due to a high demand of new projects in the Defence division they have a new opportunity for an Information Assurance and Security Consultant. Job Role Responsibilities – Information Assurance Security Consultant. The successful candidate will be an accomplished, enthusiastic and conscientious individual who has the relevant Information Assurance and Security qualifications and whose responsibilities will include: • Conduct a lead security role in complex Information Assurance scenarios that involve multiple tasks and Information Assurance consultants, improving the risk management processes by understanding the client's aims, culture and portfolio. • Deliver products and services to the highest level of quality and within time and budget constraints. • Conduct in-depth risk assessments that potentially involve innovative thinking to address challenging Information Assurance scenarios that push the boundaries of IAS1. • Assist in the production of client policies and procedures to meet HMG requirements. • Conduct compliance testing to deliver security solutions. • Build successful working relationships with key customers and stakeholders. • Conduct scoping appraisals designed to establish help the company to establish the security requirements, costs and resources of delivering systems and/or services. • Produce accreditation strategies and plans to address the requirements of multiple systems and/or services. • Establish a detailed understanding of security architectures to enable the provision of consistent and valued Information Assurance advice. • Identify areas of Information Assurance weakness and produce detailed remediation plans. • Help the improvement, growth and business development of the companies Defence’s Information Assurance capability. • Mentor and develop less experienced Information Assurance Consultants. Requirements - Essential: • Degree qualified in a relevant field or equivalent. • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent • Associate/Full Membership of the Institute of Information Security Professionals (IISP) with ITPC. • Membership of CESG Listed Advisor Scheme (CLAS). • Information Assurance Subject matter expert – leadership and knowledge sharing with others. • Significant experience of delivering technical IA consultancy within UK Government. • Evidence of providing technical IA solutions to complex scenarios. • Evidence of conducting compliance audits e.g. against ISO27001. Desirable Skills - • Demonstrable experience of conducting, documenting and reviewing risk assessments in accordance with HMG Information Assurance Standards No 1 and No 2. • Able to communicate risks to client stakeholders. • Broad and expert knowledge of HMG Information Assurance Policies, Standards and Guidelines, including the Security Policy Framework (especially Part 4), the CESG IA Portfolio, and JSP440 Part 8 (plus other MOD IA methods). • Ability to work as part of a team in a multi-discipline environment and in a matrix organisation. • Programme/project management experience. • Excellent communicator at all levels and situations, coupled with solid report writing abilities. Additional Information Some work outside normal office hours may be necessary. Travel to and from client sites and/or temporary secondment to clients offices may also be required.
