Project Accountant Security Cleared

Reporting to the Programme Manager duties cover: * Financial input to project stage gate business cases (including investment appraisal and through-life costings) * Review of all Business Cases * Establishing a process that identifies through life cost for Capital solutions * Review and evaluate project baseline plans and monthly re-forecasts; assuring the quality of variance analysis against plan * Provide interpretation of corporate financial requirements for month end, year end * Establish improvements in forecasting in Major Projects, Capital Programme and Operational Projects by challenging, providing assurance and confidence in the integrity of financial information * Financial input to monthly project reports, variance analysis, financial risks/opportunities evaluation, latest forecast updates * Embed Earned Value Management in key projects * Use EVM as a project control tool and analysing and interpreting project EV trends * Overseeing financial close of Major Projects * Promote financial awareness within project teams * Attend project meetings to review and challenge financial performance * Analysis and ad hoc reporting as required This role requires someone who currently holds SC Clearance and is eligible for DV clearance. In addition you will be qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or QBE with experience in Management Accounting or Project Accounting have good excel skills, be a strong communicator and able to discuss figures cross functionally. This is a 12 month contract. They are looking to start the right candidate ASAP but it can take up to 8 weeks from offer stage to start.
